Club News - February 2022

2021-2022 Membership is now Open

Membership is now open.

If you have a court key you must keep your membership current. All competition players must have paid their membership before the competition season starts.

Membership Covid Special

Dear Members

Due to the Covid restrictions in the latter part of 2021, the Research tennis community unfortunately lost nearly 3 months use of its courts.

The Committee has been considering whether some rebate on the 2021/2022 fees might be appropriate, whilst also taking into consideration the ongoing recurrent costs of maintenance, affiliation fees etc that the Club still has to bear, as well as the logistics of any rebate arrangements.

I am pleased to advise that it has been agreed to recognise the short loss of access which members had in the latter part of 2021 by providing a 25% discounted membership rate for the upcoming 2022/2023 year to:
  • all current members who renew their membership before the 1 August 2022; and
  • were fully financial in the 2021/2022 year.
We did also look at the possibility of reimbursing a small percentage of membership fees paid in 2021/22 as an alternative, but unfortunately the logistics and costs involved eventually proved too complex.

Reminders regarding membership renewals will be sent out in June, and these reminders will reflect the above discounted rate arrangements.

We trust this goes some way to recognising the short disruption to the 2021 year and look forward to your continuing support in the years ahead.

Court Key Access and Light Usage

The keys in the lock safe are for the competition teams to access the club house and courts on competition nights and for practice between seasons with a curfew of 10.00pm lights out and following Covid rules.

Court key access for social members.

Courts are accessible all year round in daylight hours providing it doesn’t interfere with coaching, competition and social events.
See http://researchtennis.com.au/court-availability/ for court usage times.
