From the Club President...
I am pleased to announce that with the further easing of Covid-19 restrictions, Research Tennis Club members are again permitted to play competition tennis along with social tennis (which has been permitted for some weeks now) at the Club.
|
However, this privilege does come with some strict requirements which it is imperative all members must follow:
|
- Do not attend the courts if you:
- are feeling unwell
- are awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test
- have had a positive test for Covid-19 and are required to self-isolate
- have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 in the past 14 days
- The Research Tennis Clubhouse (including the toilet facilities) can only be entered to use the toilets and operate the court lights. Masks are required inside unless you have a Medical Exemption.
- Players should bring their own filled water bottles.
- Off-court social gatherings are permitted but are limited to meeting outside with your own supplied refreshments in accordance with current State Government guidelines for external gatherings. The club rooms are not to be used for food preparation, however the BBQ is available for use.
- Before play commences, all players must check in to the venue with the official Service Victoria app using the QR Code that is at the entrance to the club rooms.
- During play, the following rules apply:
- no shaking hands
- as far as possible, maintain the appropriate 1.5m physical distancing
- avoid touching your face
- cover your coughs and/or sneezes with your elbow
- After play, please:
- bag the courts
- leave the courts promptly,
- lock the courts
- ideally sanitise your hands
- preferably promptly leave the club environs
If the above restrictions are breached, then the Club may be forced to close the facilities and individual members at fault may face the possibility of government fines and may have their continuing membership privileges reviewed.
|
Enjoy your tennis, but please do the ‘right things’ so that we can all continue to attend the courts and be safe in doing so.
|
Mike Paterson, President Research Tennis Club.
