Research Tennis Club -Update October 2021

As you probably know the Covid-19 restrictions have eased. The letter below says 5 people but I believe this is per tennis court. Police have been seen checking other clubs in the area for compliance, so you have been warned!

From Nillumbik Council:

Hello Sporting Community,

As you would be aware, the Victorian Government announced on 19 September 2021 a roadmap to deliver the National Plan Roadmap - Delivering the National Plan: How we work

This included a modest easing of restrictions and from 11:59pm 28 September 2021 for outdoor contactless recreation including golf, tennis and basketball.

As per the Victorian Government advice:

Outdoor recreation activities are allowed for a group of 5 people fully vaccinated and if not fully vaccinated 2 people.

Fully vaccinated outdoor personal training up to 5 people plus the trainer is allowed and if not fully vaccinated outdoor personal training up to 2 people plus the trainer.

Personal Trainers must have a Certificate and operate with an ABN.

All indoor space, including toilets at the facility are closed to members of the public at all times.

No club structured training sessions are allowed.

The existing 10km radius limit is now increased to 15km.

Please follow the mandated restrictions as well as the necessary health and safety measures as they apply.

If you have any further questions or if you require further clarification around the guidelines, please contact your State Sporting Authority, the DHHS or the Coronavirus Victoria Hotline 1800 675 398.

Kind Regards

DVTA

The 2021 spring season has been suspended.
There has been no news from DVTA about what will be happening next year whether 2021 spring will continue next year or if a new round will be started.

Given the government's eagerness for lockdowns it will be difficult to plan community competition with any confidence.

The club is using a new membership system and you will need to re-enter your details. The old one was having a lot of performance issues, but the new one has many new features including a court booking system when we need it.

Vandalism

Unfortunately, and probably due the club not being used, there has been some vandalism.

The gate to courts 4 and 5 was cut open. It has now been temporarily repaired and the committee is hoping that the council will get it fixed properly. The green electrical box at the northern end of court 3 has forcibly lost its cover. Please do not interfere with the switches and other contents inside.

We hope to have these issues attended to soon.
