Research Tennis Club
COVID-19 Stage 3 Restrictions

Dear Members,

I am pleased to say that despite the current Stage 3 restrictions which are in place, Research Tennis Club members are still permitted to enjoy a game of social tennis at the Club.

However, this privilege does come with some strict requirements which it is imperative all members must follow:
  1. Do not attend the courts if you:
    1. are feeling unwell
    2. are awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test
    3. have had a positive test for Covid-19 and are required to self-isolate
    4. have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 in the past 14 days
  2. The Research Tennis Clubhouse (including the toilet facilities) will remain locked and ‘out of bounds’ for the duration of Stage 3 restrictions
  3. A maximum of 2 players per court, unless all players on the court are from the same family household in which case a maximum of 4 players per court is permissible
  4. Players should bring their own (full) water bottles
  5. There are to be no off-court social gatherings
  6. Before play commences, all players must:
    1. ‘log’ their attendance by scanning the QR Code that is at the entrance to each court with their phone and completing the player details that the App. they are referred to requires
    2. sanitise their hands with the sanitiser provided at each court
  7. During play, the following rules apply:
    1. no changing ends
    2. no shaking hands
    3. no use of the scoreboards
    4. as far as possible, maintain the appropriate 1.5m physical distancing
    5. avoid touching your face
    6. cover your coughs and/or sneezes with your elbow
  8. After play, please:
    1. bag the courts
    2. leave the courts immediately,
    3. lock the courts and wipe down the lock and gate latch
    4. sanitise your hands
    5. promptly leave the club environs
The Committee will be regularly monitoring the observance of these rules and requirements. It is also likely that periodic ‘drive by’ checks will be made by local police to ensure Stage 3 restrictions are being strictly applied.

If the above restrictions are breached, then the Club may be forced to close the facilities and individual members at fault will face the possibility of government fines and will have their continuing membership privileges reviewed.

Enjoy your tennis, but please do the ‘right things’ so that we can all continue to attend the courts and be safe in doing so.

Kind Regards
Mike Paterson, President Research Tennis Club.

Competition Tennis

The DVTA autumn 2020 season has been abandoned. We have been advised that a 6 team per section DVTA spring competition is being considered when restrictions ease further. More information will be passed on as it's received from DVTA.
