Court Keys

With the recent installation of the much more user-friendly Igloo Lock System, we are delighted to advise that the need for court keys has now become obsolete. Members may recall that a deposit was paid by those who were previously issued with court keys, and members who still have a court key now have 3 options as follows:

Your Court Key Return Options

  1. Forego applying for a deposit refund and elect to apply your deposit as a donation to the Club to assist in covering the costs of all the recent asset improvements around the tennis club. Unfortunately, the revenue from membership fees and competition play is still not proving sufficient to cover the full upkeep and development of the club to our expectations. As such, the Committee is constantly needing to look for opportunities to raise money through grants, sponsorship and donations etc to pay for lighting, resurfacing of courts, net replacements etc. Members who elect to donate their deposit will receive a receipt and a named acknowledgement and thank you on the Club website (with the member's permission).
  2. Ask for your deposit refund to be held against your next membership renewal fee. This will at least assist the Club in managing its cash flow in what may be a difficult year.
  3. If neither of the above options is attractive to you, and you feel strongly about claiming your deposit back, return your key in person to the Membership Secretary along with your bank details, by no later than 31 March 2024.

Your key deposit money will be returned to you via your nominated account within ten business days. If you paid by Credit Card, the funds will be returned to the credit card you used to pay for the key deposit. If it has changed, inform the Membership Secretary and other arrangements will be made.

We are sincerely hoping that those who feel able will nominate the donation option – this will go a long way to helping the Club continue to maintain and improve the excellent facilities we believe club members already enjoy.

How To Return Your Court Key

Return your key within three months of ceasing your membership or by the 31st May 2024 and get your $100 deposit refunded by:

  • Calling the Membership Secretary to arrange a key drop off
  • Returning the key in an envelope along with your bank details for the refund to Research Post Office, with
    Research Tennis Club,
    PO Box 1038,
    Research VIC 3095
... on the front. Currently, there is no charge for this service.
