Leo Underwood
We have received some sad news this week, Leo Underwood one of our life members at Research Tennis club has passed away at the age of 87.
|
Some members will remember him walking his dog around the courts at the club keeping an eye on things, he would often stop for a chat and ask how the club was going.
|
Leo was heavily involved in the early years of the club in the early eighties and nineties. He held a position on the committee as the Treasurer for 5 years, plus other committee positions over this time.
|
Our condolences go out to his family at this sad time.
|

Position: Assistant Coach

Location: Viewbank & Eltham area.
|
Overview: Topline Tennis has a coaching position available for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work in the outdoors in a fun team environment. The position has excellent pay, conditions and guaranteed hours. Coaching hours are during the day and from 4 pm onwards with considerable growth potential. Coaching consists of lessons for all ages and standards, with group, private and squad coaching with plenty of variety.

Skill Level: Tennis and teaching skills. We have a very good in house coach training program so if you enjoy your sport you will be a good fit for this position.

Social Tennis
Want to play tennis without the commitment of competition?
There is a WhatsApp Group called “Research Tennis Battlers”.
|
|
It’s aimed at adults but bring your kids along if you wish. More proficient players are welcome but just remember who you are playing against and give everyone a go. If you want to join in just sign up and wait for the invites. If you have a court key, you can just create an invite of your own.
|

No court key? Everyone is welcome to book court 6 using our special lock.
|
|
It's free for non junior members, for everyone else it's $20 per hour.
|

Club Keys Lost
|
A set of club keys has been lost near court 1 over the long weekend. If found please return them to PO Box 1038, Research VIC 3095 free of charge. Or contact Mike Paterson on 0404 212 591

Wattle Glen Tennis Club Centenary Celebrations, 9th October 2022

Join us to celebrate our Centenary:

Where: 55 Kangaroo Ground Road, Wattle Glen
|
When: 9th October 2022, 9:00am to 12:00 noon
|
- Round robin competition, open to anyone interested. For more info and to reserve a place, contact Neale Woods.
- Official celebrations will commence at 12:00 noon with a Welcome To Country and guest speakers.
- BBQ lunch, (soft drinks provided)
- Raffle prizes and activities throughout the afternoon
- Speed radar competition for the fastest serve.
We would love to see you there to help us celebrate this 100 year milestone of the Wattle Glen Tennis Club.
